PUTTY ROAD WARNING!!!

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by James Mayfield, Dec 7, 2004.

  1. From NSW MCC.

Following the crash a little while ago on the Putty Rd (6 bikes, all riding
like nutters) the police are doing a serious blitz up there.

They are pulling over EVERY bike for "random" this that or the other.

They will be checking exhausts (better get a can kit), and will most likely
be doing license, rego, and breath tests.

They will then have a stern talk to you about not riding like a dick up
    there.

Assuming your bike is registered, has a legal pipe that is legally labelled,
doesn't have any defects, you have a license (appropriate for the bike you
are riding), aren't speeding, don't swear, aren't pissed, don't have any
outstanding warrants, and are generally nice and polite, you will probably
be able to get underway without sustaining a fine.

Going to be like that for a few weeks.

  2. Yep. If you want to spend an hour or two talking to the local senior
sergeant, there's the spot to do it.

Anyone want to organise a toy run up that way? That'd **** 'em.

How about we organise a hospital visit to the f*ckwits that rode like
idiots and crashed so we can let them know how much we appreciate
    their actions

A bit too late for a hospital visit. I heard that 1 of them died at the
scene of the accident and the other 2 transported to hospital didn't
    survive. Not good!

Depends which crash. The multibike pile up last month was only one
"serious" and that was severe shock rather than severe injury.

"A daring attempt to escape a traffic inspection ended in a police chase
and crash at Sunbury yesterday afternoon."

Why do the press continue to describe such exploits as "daring"?

I would have thought "A stupid attempt to escape" would be a bit closer
    to the mark.....

Well, you could find out where they're buried and piss on their graves and
leave insulting notes for the grieving rellies.

They don't seem to be allowed to say these things.

I.e. they will say that the driver lost control of the vehicle and died
after hitting a tree square on, instead of writing that they had shits for
brains and couldn't judge neither the corner nor their own abilities, and
come to that, neither the effects of whatever they were drinking and/or
smoking or otherwise injecting into themselves.

As long as it's just the trees that get hurt... it doesn't exactly hurt the
gene pool. And those who have to clean up afterwards :p

  11. Or the ones that piss me off even more "a driver was injured when his
car left the road..." _NO!_ the crash happened when the idiot _drove his
    car off the road_!

It's bloody convenient, isn't it. The car crash was caused by a lamp post
making a deep impact on the structure of the car.

Yeah, that's the cause of it all right.

Mmm.. i know how easy it is to defect a car, but thinking about it, how can
you defect a bike if the tyres are good, exhaust are good.

not like theirs a windscreen to stick a defect notice anyway..

on a car i can defect you for having a dirty windscreen, no water in ya
washer, holls in your exhaust, oil leaks, tyres, electrical system, but
bikes dont have most of that, and never has any problems..

the two biggies are no label on the pipe, and the rego label "capable of
    obstructing the number plate".

    Not *everywhere*.
My XS leaks oil from the tacho after riding it at 100 kph for too long. Oil
goes up the cable, out the tacho, onto the headlight, onto the front guard
and all over my right boot.

Conehead wisely rides ahead of me.

Come to think, Conehead won't ride with me anymore
