I don't like the Birds eye bear, but I do like the ones on the
    travelodge adverts.

It's saying something when puppets are more eloquent/better spokesmen
    than Lenny Henry ...

Personally I agree with the writer, in finding most advert puppets
creepy, wierd or just generally unpleasant.

Unlike him, however, I see it in a positive light, as it underlines
even more that I'm not in the target audience, thereby reinforcing my
already huge feeling of superiority even further.

But Punch and Judy is a Great British tradition.

Never quite 'got' ventriloquists though. Or Rod Hull. Or that twat
    with the ostrich ..

Well, apart from having an (apparently) unknown lodger [1] living in the
freezer compartment[2], he seems downright psychotic to me. Slightly
threatening, with a promise of extreme violence. 'I'll be watching you'

[1] Sort of Michael Keaton in Pacific Heights.
[2] Which would freak me out, for a start.

It's a shame that Travelodges seem to be universally poorly maintained
    and very shabby these days.

My delightful client's corporate travel agent has booked me into a
Travelodge in Edinburgh for a week during the Edinburgh Festival
because nothing else is available in the city.

The price? A merge £153 PER NIGHT!

Hmmm, that's probably why I want one.
Stalker polar bear, what's not to love?
As long as he didn't drink the limoncello he'd be fine.

On one level nothing, but as a conduit to sell processed shit food....
I reckon that would be the first to go.
