The point I was making, badly apparently, is that, if used as designed(BM21
for instance) in salvo , from one launch point, by someone who has half a
    clue, they are effective.
Also, look up MLRS weapon effects, known to some users as the "Grid Square
    Removal Service"
So, I agree, your general point is indeed 'bollocks'
    Your psychological point is valid.

Best of luck. I still entertained the idea of popping over for the
weekend, seeing as I was in the UK earlier this week anyway, but
unfortunately it had been decided in my absence a few weeks ago that I
had to be here today and tomorrow to train a new bod who'd flown over
    from the US specifically.

Shame really, as I doubt if I'll ever get over for either the TT or
the GP now. Let us know (sms if youy have time) your progress.

    Yes and no.

My view is broadly in line with yours but I would add that the strength
of the freedoms we enjoy in the Western style Democracies is based as
much upon our separation of Church from State as anything else and
should be encouraged to the max in those states yet to achieve this.

Simon old bean, I agree with almost every word you say!

We should absolutely not trade with them in *any* way, bank their money,
allow their officials to travel on our airlines or to our countries.
    Simple innit.

Absolutely. And as soon as we have cars that run on air, and no need for a
plastics industry, I'm sure we'll stop trading with them.

I agree completely. However, we need to remember that it took from 1066 to
1928 for the UK to achieve universal voting rights for people aged over 21.
(Nevertheless, we still have a monarch and a royal prerogative, meaning that
our elected representatives can still be bypassed). In between we had
endless wars including civil wars. If it took us over 850 years to get it
not quite right right why should anyone think that other countries can
achieve it more or less overnight?

I don't know about *nicely*. However, the fact is that Isreal kicked
off with the tremendous support of non-Paletinian jews, American jews
in particular. One has to admire thier organizational skills. If the
Arab countries in Isreal's immediate vicinity had excersized half the
organizational skills of the Isreali's, I suspect that Isreal would
    not now exist

I always thought the way they developed the Kfir fighter was
    fascinating.[/QUOTE]

What, nicking copies of all the original blueprints? Heh, fair play
tho'... I seem to remember reading somewhere how (in 1948?) they
nicked a sqadron of flying fortresses... And then there were the
gunboats nicked from France (early '70's?)... I think nicking land has
already been covered in this thread. One has to admire thier survival
    skills...

When did we separate the Church from the State, then? I must've nodded

  18. B29 Superfortresses, actually. Russia copied them after a flight had to
force-land in Russia in late WW2.

They also discovered that reverse engineering isn't that easy. I mean,
copying (for example) a remote-controlled gun turret isn't that simple
if you don't have the electronics industry and the high-tech
manufacturing and engineering capability to build it.

We haven't quite but we are well on the way. One of the few things Yo
Blair has done right is to see that the church is on it's way out of the
legislative process once and for all. Disestablishment would be a nice
    bonus though.
