It's all those abandoned relics cluttering up the place.

no, actually it's not that. Something else.

****. I saw them, must have been, a dozen times or more.

Best time was when they cancelled a gig in Paris during the Fugazi
tour, and for some reason decided to play Guildford Student Union Hall
    to about 300 people.

I never managed it. A friend goes to the thing Fish does each year and
I keep meaning to go up to that with her.
Excellent. Inspired by this thread I had Script on in the car today,
with the CD player on a higher volume than I use for the usual R4
listening (on a tanget mid week this week was rather good) and the
windows down. Daughter was cowering going 'Mum, someone might see me'
which I think is a result.

My kids get embarrassed when they're in my cars, cos I insist on
playing Happy Hardcore quite loudly. They hate it... so do I but
anything to piss the kids off so they don't ask for lifts. I'm so glad
they have their own cars now.

    Depends on your tastes.

It's variable, I don't always catch it but I was driving in the
morning this week. I've never had a hit rate higher than 2 of the
items before but this time 3 out of the 4 bits were interesting. First
    bit was boring.

    hang on...

"Edward Clive is a furniture specialist and Director at Christie's
auctioneers. He has been involved in overseeing the cataloguing of
articles from the forthcoming Althorp attic sale which includes
thirteen Spencer horse-drawn carriages. These are the most important
collection of ancestral carriages ever to appear at auction. The
auction will take place at Christie's South Kensington salesroom.

Simon English is a conceptual land artist who will be talking about
his trip charting the letters of the word "England" across the
country, forty years after he first made the journey. In England
Revisited he will be looking at the change, or lack of change, that
has taken place in the landscape, communities, ecologies and
industries of all the places visited in the original journey.

Max Hardberger's career has taken him in many directions from ship's
captain to crop duster, private investigator and stuntman. He now
works as a vessel repossession specialist, recovering stolen ships for
a living. Dubbed the 'good pirate', desperate owners hire him to steal
back ships that have been illegitimately seized. Seized - A Sea
Captain's Adventures Battling Pirates & Recovering Ships In The
World's Most Troubled Waters is published by Nicholas Brealey.

Harriet Walter is one of our most highly thought of actors, currently
appearing on the National Theatre stage in 'Women Beware Women'. She's
also curated an exhibition of photographs called "Infinite Variety",
celebrating the ageing female face which is currently at the National
    Theatre."
