Seems to have been asked several times before, but there are several
    conflicting answers.

I have a full car licence (paper, issued 1988). I moved house and
subsequently got a photocard licence in 2003.

I remember my old paper licence used to mention provisional motorcycle
entitlement, however my photocard licence doesn't seem to mention
motorcycles anywhere on it. Where would I expect a provisional
entitlement to be shown on a full licence anyway?

    http://www.dvla.gov.uk/forms/pdf/inf90_140404.pdf (page 2)

    and

    http://www.dvla.gov.uk/forms/pdf/D100.pdf (page 10)

suggests provisional motorcycle licence is included automatically since
    2002.

    BUT

    http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/advice/pdf/motorcycling02.pdf (page 4)

suggests I need to apply for provisional entitlement if it's not shown.

These are all documents that people have been pointed to in the last
year when a similar question has been asked.

    So what are the rules?

I have a CBT booked for the weekend.

I took (and passed) my theory test this morning and their computers
accepted my licence. If that makes any difference.

Paper part of the licence on the large section, you're looking for
    category "A" being displayed there.
