Seems to have been asked several times before, but there are several conflicting answers. I have a full car licence (paper, issued 1988). I moved house and subsequently got a photocard licence in 2003. I remember my old paper licence used to mention provisional motorcycle entitlement, however my photocard licence doesn't seem to mention motorcycles anywhere on it. Where would I expect a provisional entitlement to be shown on a full licence anyway? http://www.dvla.gov.uk/forms/pdf/inf90_140404.pdf (page 2) and http://www.dvla.gov.uk/forms/pdf/D100.pdf (page 10) suggests provisional motorcycle licence is included automatically since 2002. BUT http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/advice/pdf/motorcycling02.pdf (page 4) suggests I need to apply for provisional entitlement if it's not shown. These are all documents that people have been pointed to in the last year when a similar question has been asked. So what are the rules? I have a CBT booked for the weekend. I took (and passed) my theory test this morning and their computers accepted my licence. If that makes any difference.
