If you write to the old bill and ask them for the theft stats for that car
park they will likely supply them.
Its a very long shot but if you can demonstrate thefts there are epidemic
maybe you've a claim for negligence against the car park owner for
inadequate security? ........... Especially if they've been charging you
an arm and a leg for the privilege of placing your bikes there to be
    thieved?

  12. What can I say - apart from I am truely gutted.

12 years of riding bikes and I'd never had a bike stolen, and never even
made an insurance claim, and here I am now having had 2 bikes nicked in the
    space of 16 days.

The R1 I bought to replace the first stolen one was nicked from the same car
park as the first one. Pretty stupid to keep parking there I guess you'll
say - well possibly but I have been parking there for 4 years with never a
problem and this last bike was chained, alarmed and immobilised and on the
3rd floor and shared the carp park with probably 100 other desirable bikes,
lots of them unchained so I thought mine was fairly safe - how wrong.

So I dont feel quite such a spawney get anymore.

Chatting to another guy in the car park who was just getting on his bike
when I discovered mine was missing turns out he had his ZX12 stolen from
there just before Christmas. So, dont, ever, park a bike in Whites Row car
park, London EC2. I certainly am not going to.

And from now on I'm only riding into work on a cheap hack, which is probably
all I will be able to insure now anyway.

    Bike thieves. Fucking bastards.

    Steve

PS: Anyone who gets any R1 parts with datatag id DAT0238996 on them - let
me, or the police know will ya.

    Bad luck there.

You know, I was thinking at the time of your last post about the
replacement R1 that life is too short to own the same model twice.
Try something else, especially if you use the same car park.

    Oh, I don't think that's true.

    fx:thinks.

    I've had two BMW K100s.
    two Honda CB250RSs
    three Kawasaki KH400s
three Kawasaki H1s (including a basket case currently in some northern
    garage).

I'm pretty certain I've had other duplicates as well but can't remember.

I'd like to get another GPZ600r, another ZXR750, another RD350B oh and
shit loads of new stuff too.

When I was 'optioned up to the eyeballs' in the heady days of the
technology boom, I thought I'd have enough spare cash to buy good
condition shite old bikes. It wasn't to be. Still I'd rather have had
the dream with the eventual disappointment than no dream at all.

It took some time and quite strong medication for Pip to deal with the
imaginary Champ so don't start complicating things with the real one.
