Project R1 - Got Stolen!

  1. Folks

Can you believe that. My poor R1 was nicked from Whites Row car park
London EC2 on 5th Jan while I was at work. I've been parking it there
for 4 years without problem and now the bike's done 97,000 miles
    someone decides to steal it.

I guess thats Project R1 over then.

Looking on Bike Trader, R1's can be got for about 4k upwards. I'm
hoping I'll get something approaching this from the insurance so I can
buy another one. What d'ya reckon?

If anyone sees R976 JWV about - do me a favour and knock the c**t off.

    Steve.

    That'll be Des, then.

Commiserations, fella. Go look for a nice shiny one, ready for the
    arrival of the insurance cheque.

No, but on the bright side it'll probably be cheaper to take the
insurance cheque and buy another than it would have been in parts to
    make yours decent again.

(Steve Bullimore) somehow managed to post:
Aw crap, I was enjoying the rebuild. Are you sure it din't just
disintegrate in a downpour? Remember, you cleaned it recently and
removed the dirt *force* that was binding all the bits together.

If you feel you need a surrogate project R1 in the mean time, comfort
    can be found here. ...
