So, I've painted the walls already, I've got the PVA, I've got the
floorpaint. I've got all my bikes in 3/4 of one car space.

My neighbour says to vacuum the floor before putting the PVA on. Won't
    that knacker my vacuum cleaner?

Any other preparation I need to do?

I'd sweep it out with a soft house brush before vacuuming, and also give
it an hour between for the dust to settle.

It shouldn't really do too much harm to the hoover.

I've just given it a cursory sweep. I'll do it again in the morning,
    when the light is better.
"no harm" would be even better!

It shouldn't. However, I'd have thought a good sweep would be
    sufficient.

  6. It's only dust. Hoovers do that sort of thing. You giving it a coat of
    PVA then floor paint?

If you want to spring for it, epoxy floor coating are the bollocks, but
    cost a fair bit more.

  8. You mean you don't have a garage vacuum cleaner. I have an upright and
    normal type...
Make sure you have enough lighting. Couple of radiators done both sides.
Drinks fridge. Kettle, potable TV. Ash tray. Comfy seat...

It will really depend on whether I can be arsed or not.
I've already bought the floor paint. D14817 from Screwfix.

Dunno. Just lots and lots of dust. It went a bit temperamental after I
hoovered up some ant powder last summer.

    Where's ARCO?
While discussing this with my neighbour - who was going to get the paint
for me, as he has a trade counter - I got a bit carried away with all
the colours, and decided that I wanted the dark red floor, and a pale
blue on the walls. Being a West Ham fan, he agreed that that would be
super-cool, but wouldn't achieve the objective of improving the light
(which is why I painted the walls; boring old PBW).
I got it now, from Screwfix.

    heh.

I have extravagant plans for lots of tools...
I won't need the ashtray. The rest are on the list.

Unless I've missed something important, it's a fucking doddle. So I'm
happy to come over and lend a hand if you want. I owe you favours, from
    the recent no-bike incident.

The hardest part is clearing all the shit out of the garage. You've got
kids, so it'll probably be ten times worse.

Clear it out, get the stuff, and we'll get it done comfortably in a
    Saturday.

It'll be fine then. I've used mine to hoover up plaster when I tore a
wall down.. The removable air filter wasn't even dirty afterwards.

I didn't even know it had a removable filter until I phoned up to
complain that it was running like a shit after the ant powder. Oops.
