Where can I get progressive front springs for my XJ900S (Diversion) in
    Brisbane?
I'm happy with this bike as a good all-rounder but the front suspension
    is really terrible.

I'm not a fan of progressive springs, they make suspension harder to
    tune not easier most times.

I suggest that a replacement single rate spring suited to your riding
weight and usage (if your existing spring is either too light, too heavy
or sagged out) and a set of Gold Valve emulators would do a MUCH better job.

Don't neglect the rear suspension although generally the front makes the
    most difference.

  6. Just got that job done on the FJR, after nearly 100,000 km. Just
finished putting the bike back together yesterday evening, so a short
run today to sort out any fine tuning (or errors of omission in putting
    things together)
I'm looking forward to this, then. Replaced the standard shock with an
Ohlins last year, and it was like chalk and cheese.

I've also just replaced the steering head bearings, but replaced with
tapered rollers rather than the ball bearings that were OEM. Not sure
whether the torque settings specified for the OEM will be valid for the
Tapered Rollers. I ended up by simply going on 'feel'.

Will see how that 'feels' today too.
