My Kawa Z1300 (1980) idles much to high with the carbs completely down
and when I touch the throttle the engine fades out. Is there someone
who ever had a same problem with event. another bike or so ?
The dealer doesn't know how to solve this problem and advises me to
buy a "new" carburettor block !
    Help wanted !!!

Hmmm. Ageing carburettors are a problem. There's lots of very small
part in there, which slowly wear, not to mention the rubber bits which
harden and crack. And then there's 20 years of less than expert
owners noodling with it. One of our more eccentric posters here
<waves at Nigel> recently bought an early Goldwing, and he just
couldn't get the carbs sorted on it.

At least the Z13 only has 3 carbs instead of 6. My first guess would
be to look at the diaphrams - these sit underneath the carb tops, and
'work' the vacuum trick to raise the slide. They're wll known for
prerishing with age. Another poster here, TOG, managed to find
somewhere that would make replacement ones - hopefully he'll be along
    to advise who/where shortly.

Have you had the tank off recently?

Does it do it with the fuel tap in prime?

    Does it idle smoothly?

Have you tried with the fuel filler cap open?

No rags trapped in the airbox?

Done anything to the bike just before this occured?

    Also, where are you based.
