Thinking about Ogden's comments, how Shipman had done the prison
service a favour by topping himself.

Maybe Shipman could be the example to the asylum seeker from Ivory
Coast who, with his asylum claim still unproven after a number of
years, and with countless dodgy social security claims to his name,
infected a woman with HIV. He's now got 6 years at HMP.

If we want to discourage crime and dodgy asylum claims, why haven't we
just sent this guy back to the Ivory Coast? Why should my taxes (and
speeding fines!) go on providing him with accomodation, 3 meals and
day and guaranteed fucks every night?
