No. That'd only affect the sentence if considered as a separate offence,
and odds are any conviction for leaving the scene (which I'm not
entirely sure, off the top of my head, is an imprisonable offence) would
have been set to run concurrently, not consecutively, and hence been far
shorter than the sentence for dangerous driving.

Won't do him much good, he's banned from driving til mid 2010.

    Not so sure about that.

    http://europa.eu/eur-lex/pri/en/oj/dat/1999/c_211/c_21119990723en00010008.pdf

"It had long been recognised that there was disparity of
treatment between drivers who are disqualified in their
own country from driving and those who are disqualified
in a country other than the one in which they are normally
resident. In the first case, removing the right to drive
prevents the licence holder from driving in any country
where the licence previously allowed him to drive.
    ....
So whereas in the first case, the driver's actions lead to his
being banned from driving in other countries, as well as in
his own country (State of residence) where the disqualification
was imposed, in the second case it does not;"

So if you hold a UK driving licence and you're disqualified in the UK,
that applies to anywhere the licence would otherwise have been valid.

Interestingly, if you hold a UK licence and you're banned in, say,
France, the disqualification only applies to driving in France. The
Convention on Driving Disqualifications (1998) uld change this, but as
yet only one of the 15 signatories has ratified it so it's not yet in
    force.

A piece of appalling PR whereby the over aggressive little twat in
question is released early from nick and gets into a stretched limo and
heads off into the sunset in convoy headed up by a Roller after first
stating to the cameras that he had a new baby (convenient for mitigation
part of the sentencing after the trial I thought) and nobody died.
Badly managed to say the least.

Not really that convenient for mitigation. As mentioned previously, he
got 93% of the maximum available sentence. He couldn't have come off
much worse if he'd run round the court tweaking people's noses shouting
    "all judges are cunts."

Yeah right. Just cos it didn't work doesn't mean to say it didn't
happen and being that his "advisors" are so piss poor at their job even
I can see the cracks between the steps in the "love me, I am really a
nice person" process, I would think the beak saw right through it too
    and bless him, acted accordingly.

The man is a **** and needs to be dropped by polite society. Perhaps,
as has been suggested elsewhere, he should **** off to the other side of
the world so that we can forget him all the easier. At the very least
his publicity people ought to be on the dole.

Depends on who they intend to market his "bad boy" trainers/t-short/gold
chain to. Perhaps they're great PR people, just for a specific segment
    of society.
