A friend of mine needs to know how and where she can acquire the
knowledge and qualification. Anyone got a clue please?

Yes, there are standard courses on this, of which I have knowledge. Email me
when I am sober.... alisonhopkins1 at btinternet dot com

Is she working in public sector, cos no one else gives a fart about it.

    Yes they do!

They made us cover it at college, albeit as briefly as everything else they
'taught' us on the HND I did.

I suppose at least this is still used, whereas the Pascal has *really* come
in handy since, in the real world. ;-)

Ah, but that's college. Have you found a single commercial company, other
than those who sell to public sector, who use Prince 2?

    Not true.

Some private sector companies used it for a while.

However I think that there's another flavour of the month now.
Six-Sigma or something, I didn't really listen to the stuff someone was
spouting about being a 'Six-Sigma black belt'; the urge to spew got too
    much.

Ali Hopkins emerged from their own little world to say

    Ah, a posh legsplitz [1]

[1] as a barman in S Herefordshire in the 1980s I was sometimes asked for
this cocktail by hopeful young bucks: half a pint of glowing orange GL
    cider with a stealth gin

    Nope.

However, I've yet to find one that uses Pascal, either.

At least if you get certified in Prince 2, you stand a good chance of
getting a few quality 'charge what you like, and don't worry if it doesn't
work, and / or goes way over the originally agreed budget and timescale',
    projects.

P2 is a very good system and if implemented properly can save a shed
load of trouble in complex projects
