Pre-loved component...

About four years ago, I binned the Drifter coming off the Air Balloon
roundabout near Cheltenham. The tank took a bit of a hit, got scraped and
dented etc. Later, a so-called professional repairer attempted to fix the
dent by "blowing it out", with the result that it was all swollen out of
shape and wouldn't fit the bike any more. This was sorted with a new tank,
and the old one went into the back of the shed.

A couple of months ago, I finally sold the Drifter, and I gave the old tank
to the purchaser, ostensibly so he could re-use the Drifter badge on the
good side of the old tank to replace the one on the new tank that got dented
in the Chimay Inversion, but also to get it out of the shed.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this:

You can see where it's blown out in the pictures - on top, around the speedo
cut-out, and underneath, right at the back - plus the original dents,
scrapes and rust. It's one fucked tank.

The vendor is the guy who bought the Drifter, of course. The tank's his to
sell, and good luck to him, if he gets somebody to buy it.

I'm just slightly gobsmacked.
