"The more I know about people, the more I love my dog."

Gets truer every day, unfortunately. Very few exceptions...

by being more intelligent than you, as opposed to marginally less
intelligent than you, like your dog.

He does make the point rather well.

Here *I* am, feeling upset cos we had to take the cat to the vet yesterday
to have a lump removed from the back of his head. He's obviously in some
discomfort, and the collar is driving him *bats* but what *really* stings
is I know that he's not going to acknowledge my presence for at leat 48hrs,
and then I've got to get hom back in the box for a post op check, so it'll
    be back to square one.

Hope it's nothing nasty. GWS moggie.

Of course the cat is pissed off at you - you're staff and it's always your
    fault! ;-)

Warm up a stinky kipper and plonk it in it's food bowl, as a peace
    offering..

And watch out for a revenge shit in your shoes!

well, for my statement above, no I don't really believe that[1], and I
    was just being insulting.

[1] dogs have an IQ around 40, I suspect Fr.Jack's no worse than 85-90
    or so.

Yes I'd noticed. He's rather more alert today, but that seems to give his

I would, but he can't get his face in....

  17. Well, I'm 52 now and don't feel any older than I was 20 years ago. Apart
from the dodgy knee and fucked back, of course.

These days, with a life expectancy of well into the 80s, 51 isn't that
    old.
