Well, when you've grown up without a father, and then finally get one about
15years ago its a bit of a fucking shock.

He was a top bloke, who liked his bikes and bike racing, I'll miss him, and
so will the rest of our family.

Thanks to the kind words from some people on here (posted & email) - it is
appreciated.

To Pip & Deadmail, there is so much I wanted to write here, but I'm not
going to, I'll let you have your cheap laughs.

Someone once died or was seriously injured (from memory) and darsy came
out with the line "It's only a tranny". That particular line has become
a kind of 'tradition' as an inappropriate thing to post.

If you thought there was any malice behind Pip's post or mine you're a
long way from the truth. Of course I'm speaking for Pip here which I
shouldn't do but think I know him well enough.

I suppose we both made the false assumption that you'd understand, it
seems you didn't. For my part if I've caused any offense (on this
point) please accept my sincere apologies because whilst I don't give
much of a **** what you think of me I didn't intent to add to your
grief.

 

There were antecedents to that (in)famous line, along the lines of
"it's only a ... cat/bike/goldfish/grandmother" but you're right, that
was the one that caused the bomb to go off.

But not in the Biblical sense, you understand.

Same goes for me, but I'd spell offence correctly.
