Pramac D'Antin MotoGP team sack Hofmann
    September 17, 2007 - 10:04PM

The Pramac D'Antin MotoGP team have sacked German rider Alex Hofmann
for not completing the Portuguese Grand Prix on Sunday.

Hofmann retired his Ducati 17 laps from the end of the race at Estoril
saying he had no incentive to finish because he was at the back of the
    field.

"The team management of Pramac D'Antin have decided to release Hofmann
from his contractual obligations for the remainder of the 2007 MotoGP
season," the Italian team said in a statement.

The 27-year-old German rider is 12th in the overall MotoGP standings
    with 65 points.

Pramac D'Antin said they would announce his replacement in the next
    few days.

    Yeah I think that's a done deal, I wonder whether Hoffman's comments
were just an excuse to get Davies on the bike earlier than next year.
