I don't know the conditions out at the track, but it's pretty clear here in OC, though a bit cool. I was watching the live track times from amasuperbike.com. It's just practice, but Mat's on top with a 1:25.4. But he's down .7 from last years qualifying, so, it's obvious it's just practice. But Eric(!!) is second and down by only .2, while the Hondas struggle (Zemke wasn't faster than Hayes, and Miguel is at the bottom of the first tier pack, 1.5 off of Mat). There was a scary moment there where I saw Eric jump up to #2, gave a muted "Yippee", and then saw they had Mat ring in a 1:22.9(!!!) Talk about stealing your thunder! But, then they went back to the 1:25.4 number. Tech glitch I assume. Mat should definately hit the low 1:24's I would think on this bike, on Q's. Maybe 1:23's. We'll see how qualifying goes this afternoon, but it's nice to see Eric doing well.
