When you dont have one at home waiting to be fitted it's worth the
effort of trying to get the old one working properly.

I'm going to chuck the bike in for a service soon so I'll get one
fitted when it's having that done.

I was highlighting the extortionate spares price quoted by Scraggy, who
knows what these things cost from BMW.

    Even SWMBO correctly identified it.

Ah, but think of the returns if he ever needs to break it and flog it on
ebay, of course its not likely to happen any time soon, because he had
more sense than to buy a Su....thinks....cancel that, used Jap bike
spares will be appreciating rapidly now I suppose.
It'll save blokes who buy new bits having to ride with a dosimeter in
    their pockets.

    Nice investment.

You've got the Hyabusa as a winter hack but you're too soft to stud the
    tyres and go for it.

Indeed. Quite a few in evidence in the car park of the Hartland Quay
hotel today although TBF more sturdy touring type machines featured than
sports bikes. More spectators than I've seen for many a year.

I gave the YZ five short, sharp shocks, confident it wouldn't seize up
after the shake down at the Haynes track last week. Going very well it
is. I quite surprised myself by doing a 28.49. I'm still checking the
archives, but this may be a personal best at Hartland after 30 years,
certainly a PB on a 250. Just as well really as the lad managed a 29.67
on his first visit there on an 85.

    I am en-route to a pre-booked MOT, it's just that I'm spending a few
hours at the office in the interim.

Indeed. Now I just need to get some new tyres fitted but P seems to
want to "do things" this weekend due to the nice weather, so I'm not
sure when I'm going to fit that in.

I've tried telling her that the weather's going to be cack by Saturday
anyway, but she's having none of it!

Quite, they're only tyres, they've either got enough tread or they
    haven't.

I need to get the gixer's big 16k service done in the next few weeks, so
it's all ship-shape before I rag it round Silverstone, take it to France
and do the rest of this summer's trips.

But I don't know when I'm going to be able to ride a bike, which makes
it hard to plan, and I can't speak, which makes it even harder to book.

That's rich, comong from Mr "two fridges" Champion!
My experience is that they're never running on time and it's best to
allow 2-3 hours total (from home).

However, I could just throw money at the problem and get their mobile
tyre fitter to come to my work. It's ~£40 extra.
I can for a while, but the rear is very squared off.
    Not really, no )

There is a nasty cold going around. Take her out somewhere on Thursday
where she's bound to catch it (the cinema would be a good bet) and by
Saturday you'll be free to engage in whatever motorcycular pursuits you
    feel like.
