Does it really cost nearly £300 for the ferry during the Manx GP week,
or have I missed something obvious?

(Yes, I know: supply and demand. I just didn't expect it to be /that/
expensive; I'm sure it wasn't, last time I looked.)

I booked a year in advance last time, and it was pricey for a bike,
    but not £300 pricey.

I went for practice week though, not race week, so I don't know if
it's banded differently, depending on dates.

Used the site yesterday with a few date variables and best was £280 so
    my findings match yours.

I've just checked Saturday to Saturday for the Manx on a motorcycle
and the dearest was 204 quid.

the cheapest for a car was 304.

Nope, bike with two adults... oh, hang on...

Adding the extra adult bumps the price up by about £80. So much for that
    idea, then.

If I were the extra adult in question I think I'd take offence at
that. I might see if she feels the same ...

There really is no place for passengers at the TT. I proved this last
year. The Radon gas on the run up to Ramsey makes them all queasy and
they have to jump off the bike and start wretching and moaning.

It was *her* suggestion that we use my spare week of holiday to do the
MGP, but if it's going to cost us the thick end of £300 just to get
there we'll have to give it a miss.

MGP or TT? I'm confused now. IMHO the latter is a nicer event.

Argh. That's "retching", even with your accent.

I suppose retching in a wretched way works, though.

Almost exactly the same as the difference in price between bike with one
adult and bike with two adults.

    A bit over 80 quid.

    Which makes sense.

Uncanny that. Let me guess, it's almost the same, but ever so
    slightly more expensive?
