Potters bar

    Any good? shithole?

    Frau wants to work in london, but I ain't going because we can't afford
    anywhere there with a garage, so we're looking at potters bar. Apart
    from the occasional train wreck, is there anything we should know? how
    is it on a scale of Luton to St albans?

    Yes. In places.

    But they do (or did 20 years ago) have a good swimming pool..
    Midway between. Some chav estates, some nice bits.

    try a bit further north ? - cheaper and not much slower if travelling by
    train.

    nowhere near as horrible as luton (IMHO)

    Hmm...More Snorbans than Luton (some very big flash gaffs in places),
    but then Borehamwood is your neighbour and it was an International
    Center for Chavulence last time I visited.

    Mutton lane - full of Gatzos

    and it's where the traffic jam was conceived

    Luton is mainly a dive, St Albans expensive - Potters Bar - boring, but
    within reach of reasonable civilisation
