Flippin' heck, that's _nasty_. I know you've got to be careful with
suspension. Would the insurance co want to know the suspension had been
messed around with? I know it doesn't increase the performance, but may
    decrease it in some aspects.

I went back and had a look and you appear to be right. They didn't make
    that very clear.

Mind you, as soon as I see anything like "you need to pay to join" I am
off elsewhere like a fast thing.

    Hmmm ...

"Sport: An organism that shows a marked change from the normal type or
parent stock, typically as a result of mutation."

    QED.

I have done it in the past and I beg to differ.

On a highly tuned sports bike maybe any changes to the geometry would
more easily be noticed, especially on the billiard table smooth (sort
of) surfaces you get on a race track but on a road machine on an
ordinary pothole and manhole cover infested road at ordinary road
speeds, nah. That is bollox that is.

Wouldn't that also affect the profile significantly?

I do honest. In the few miles I have done on the bindit I have managed
to square off the tyres nicely and I can feel it as it tips over the
ridge, quite invigorating at times it is.

I don't do ton up cornering, nor am I ever likely to, I do do a lot of
stopping at traffic lights and roundabouts and pedestrian crossings and
stuff. Which is where I want the comfort and the performance

Two things would make it better. Dropping height or a narrower seat.
Personally I would prefer a narrower seat but am unwilling to spend the
    money on an experiment.

I like the bindit, it is a nice all rounder but as with most bikes over
250cc it is far too far to the ground for my feet. I like the bindit
enough to be considering buying a newer one but I am not going to do
that if I daresn't bring the thing to a halt for fear of falling off.
This one is cheap enough and fucked enough that I really don't mind
testing a cheaper solution just to find out.

Prolly true for most bikes, I should've said 'can be' rather than 'is'.
I had to drop the front of the Tiger over 20mm to make it behave the
way I wanted - bugger knows what that equates to in angles though.

I haven't got them any more. **** nose where they have gone but they
seem to have walked out of my life forever. I used to be top poseur at
70's nights round the pub, now no more unfortunately.

Ah, repetitivity. Yes, I had failed to take that into account.

    Bear says...
IIRC that was due to overstiff spring preload not allowing the bike to
squat on the exits, which kept pushing the tyre sideways until it
overheated, plus a dodgy quality Bridgestone slick that was replaced
    under warranty.

I was thinking of going down one notch, maybe two at a push. Not just
    lowering it to minimum.
I'll find out how much static sag there's supposed to be, then go from
    there.
Over 42,000 miles on my Bandit shock. I think it may be a little tired
now then. :) Not got the money for a Ohlins, maybe for a good[1] 2nd
hand unit off an old GSXR750 or something maybe..

I was thinking more along the lines of "Sport jacket, slippers and pipe."
