I remember now what the deal was after asking Bill. My friend had rode down
from Missouri so I stayed in Mena a few more days after everyone else left.
    I rode home alone.

Yep..That V-Star was right out of the box when we made that Elgin run. That
ride there is what convinced me that I needed a windshield and floorboards
before anything else. Man the wind was pushing so hard that day that my top
    speed was about 75.

    say red-shad:
<chuckle> I'd forgotten about that little run.. Yeah, you did make that
    ride..
That was while you were still riding that V-Star nekkid, as I recall..
Good ride .. you sure hung in there, under some pretty severe conditions
    .. That's
the difference between a biker and the wannabe's.. LOL.. Regards
    Bill Walker-

Well, atleast I was 'half' right. Brian has ridden with that Vstar, and
I was half right about Brians recollection membrane.
(Brian is half right, too, I want to be fair)

Since you're under usenet oath, so to speak; Question?
Mr Red Shad,(may I call you Red?) are you sure you didnt ride atleast up
the street in Mena Ar., to eat with Brian and the gang''?
    ''Or some other cirumstances''?
    'Are you sure''?

If my memory serves me correctly, Brian arrived late on Saturday night. The
group other than myself because of my friend from MO. were leaving early
Sunday morning to head home. All the group wanted to ride the Talimena
Highway Sunday morning to eat breakfast at the lodge and make there way home
from there. My friend didnt want to ride the Talimena Highway since he was
kinda bored of it. He and I headed out the other direction to ride over to
Mount Magazine. Brian rode with them. I do believe thats the whole truth and
nothing but the truth so help me God.

If I recall, you claimed I'd rode with Redshad in Mena. If I recall, I
hadn't. What part was "half right"?

I never said I'd never rode with Redshad, you just assumed that. I've
rode with him more than once. Each of those times, it was good riding.

As I also recall, on that Elgin ride with Redshad, we got to the
destination only to have EVERYONE making fun of that VStar. Not because
it doesn't run well, but because it was "TOO CLEAN". As I recall, one
person looking at it said "if I ever tried to get my motorcycle that
clean, I'd have to spend a week taking it apart!".

You were right about not having rode with Red-Shad on the mena trip,
but wrong about not having rode with him. I realize it slipped your
mind, likely, but you said he'd need more than a new clutch to ''more or
less'' ride with you, being one of the soCalled a big boyz. (that is how
it sounded from your quick response to what Bill said, of which, is
    your usual style,)- hohohoho.
Brian, you are right! I assumed, and maybe others too, that the VStar
hasn't been on the road along side of your 1100Shadow. noBIgDeal. hohoho
