....surprisingly conciliatory and gentlemany, with Rossi and Gibernau showing
each other respect, and not attacking each other. Rossi acknowledged he
understood if Gibernau was angry, Gibernau said nothing about it except that
he hoped his shoulder would be OK, as usual thanking his team, and simply
acknowledging Rossi had raced great and had won the race. There'll be no
protests, I guess, despite what the commentators originally speculated.

That says it all doesn't it? In this cut-throat age if Movistar thought it
was the slighest bit illegal they would have lodged a protest, or am I
    missing something?

Best bit was Gibernau claiming he had slowed down deliberatley in the last
couple of laps to let Rossi catch him so he could 'watch his moves'; yea
    right Sete ;o)

Gibernau had a don't get mad, get even look on his face. The next race
should be interesting. The man's jaws were so tight he could barely
    speak.

The race was a typical Rossi affair; ride around behind the leader
watch his strengths and weaknesses. Show him a wheel a few times about
mid race and see what he does when pressured, then, one or two laps
from the end, put the sucker away. Rossi's mistake on the last lap
caused the drama that would not have otherwise occurred. I don't think
the nudge on the last lap was anything Rossi , or anyone else who has
their wits about them, would do deliberately. The risk of a crash,
and/or injury, is just to great. Gary Nixon did the same thing to Gary
Fisher in a 250 race at Loudon, many years ago, and neither thought to
much of it, other than they both said they were lucky there wasn't a
    crash.

  5. bull... why bother having a spare bike if its not equally fast?
Yamahas multi million dollar venture into mgp probably cant afford two
equally fast bikes for their #1 rider....

  6. Yes they can, and all bikes are equal except that some bikes are more equal
than others. There is no reason to belive that those two bikes have the
exact same feel and touch even if they are identical on paper. The number 1
bike was the one set up for race that morning, and even if they replicate
all settings, the other will not feel the same.
