Possibly a stupid question

Finally getting around to fixing the flat rear on the SOBoxer.

Booked it into National Tyres tomorrow morning, as it's the most
convenient way of getting it done.

Is taking the rear wheel off really as simple as undoing the 4 bolts and
pulling it out - as it was on my VFR?

No, no, no. You've got to back off the wingnut off on the brake
actuating rod first. It's one hell of a job. It could take anything up
to 2 minutes if you don't know what you're up to.

BTW, they fitted a pair of Conti Go! tyres for me this week and so far
I'm mighty impressed. None of the wobble I'm used to on overbanding and
lane changing. Good corner grip so far too. £132 a pair.

Aye, I wanted to change from Macadams, but the front one has only done
about 1k miles, due to me buying it to match the rear..... it's a cycle
I need to break at some point.

Let me get this right - you're asking on the internet how to remove
the back wheel from your bike?

You don't do yourself any favours, you know.

Thus spake Gyp () unto the assembled multitudes:
Crikey. My rear BT021 alone cost me £149 three weeks ago, though I was
quoted £117 by my GF's cousin (friends & family discount), but that would
have meant an expensive and time-consuming trip to West London.

I love it when I've had new tyres on. Hits home how crappy the handling
had become with the old ones. It's almost like having a new bike again.

There's a guy in Oz who, several years later, still wishes he'd asked
on the internet how to remove the back wheel from his MV. That way he
would've found out about the left-hand thread.

I've removed loads of wheels in the past.

The BMW wheel *looks* like it would come out just like it did on the VFR
[1], but given the lack of any kind of manual, I thought it may be best
to ask before I did it.

    [1] Single sided swing-arm.

VFRs have single-sided swingarms? **** me. That'll be why it reminds me of
    a BMW.
