    OH FOR ****'S SAKE!

Look, you cunts, yes you! All of you! This is life. Occasionally you're
    going to get offended.

    Fucking deal with it!

The Vatican just isn't that scary anymore. If it had been the Jews they'd
been poking fun at, the international levels of hysteria would have been
breathtaking. The US would have lauched a trade war against all sectors of
    the British media.

Really, this was a fundamental(ist) mistake at the planning stage: they
should have been holding Islam up to ridicule instead.

Well, they yanked tonight's Frost repeat because he gets taken hostage
or something and they decided it was "too sensitive". Good job they
replaced it with a nice, fluffy episode of Morse in which several
    people get murdered.

Oh yes. I mean, stupid **** goes to work in one of the most dangerous
areas of the planet, inevitable happens, and we all have to feel sorry
    for him.

Think of it as evolution in action.

I'd give it some thought. If the money was reasonable. I'd put it on my
list of interesting and unusual things that I have done in my life [1].

Unfortunately Iraq doesn't seem too short of train drivers and they seem
to have enough difficulties without the need for my special brand of
"cost neutral negotiations" so it's pretty unlikely.

[1] I have a list of "truly peverse things that I cannot entertain
doing"; top of which is buying a Barratt Home.

Fair enough. But if some psychotic bastard decided to give you a
free-style tracheotomy, would you expect anyone to feel sorry for you?

My blokes are on about 500 dollars a day, but they live on a military
    base.

I'd have thought that the people who live and work in the local
economy earn more, but I dunno how much.

The Indian or Nepalese or Turkish truck drivers earn a pittance.

I would expect every right thinking person to begin full on procreation
in an attempt to replace a missing star from the wondrous night sky that
    is humanity.

Yeah, but they live on a military base, so they're really pretty safe.
Still make 200K USD incl. bonuses for a year of it. They don't pay
for accommodation or food. Or tax.
That's the thing, they really aren't at risk; they get in by heli or
C130 and once they're there, they stay there.
And the short-term nature of it. My blokes are there until 2006 at
    least.
    Oh yes.
