So, it's now been two weeks since my surgery -- osteotomy/graft/Titanium plate on my right clavicle, with the graft material taken from my right iliac crest (hip hurts like a mofo). Four more weeks in a sling, then range of motion exercises, then maybe some gym work. I wear an Orthofix Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Bone Growth Stimulator for three hours each day, which makes me look as if I should say: "prepare to be assimilated." In retrospect, I should have had this done in winter, and I'd be riding now. I guess I was still hoping the shoulder was going to get better without surgery, or that I'd learn to live with it. Y'all be careful out there, and go terrorize some asphalt for me.
Mercy... keep your spirits up Michael... even though it's not too comforting that titanium mends your body instead of lightening your bike... Thanks... I'll hold that thought... Hang in there. It may seem like forever as it happens, but soon it'll be "back in the saddle again." Will do. Meantime, you heal quick. Al Moore DoD 734
