I'm sorry I must have missed this.

Where has it been *proven* that he's a terrorist?

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. However I doubt
the average inhabitant of Milan would share your sentiment. Nor
for that matter your countrymen in Manchester.

    Then perhaps so is Germany.
In that we can, and do, vote out our own corrupt politicians,
while unelected public bodies are subject to close scrutiny..

But.. but... but... I enjoy getting worked up.

And re the microwave; I'll do this sooner or later, just got to wait a
few months for the microwave to die a bit more (and to get the kids out
of the way 'cos I don't want to encourage their genetic pyro-tendencies)

So you are racist, and right-wing. Just so we know what we're dealing
    with.
    And you're stupid, too.

I'd be interested in seeing the source for these figures. Perhaps you
could direct me to a reputable website for confirmation.

You see, I suspect that the rates of employment are skewed because
they have so many people in low-paid, insecure, shitty jobs with
    crappy conditions and no benefits.

Want to have a look at how many people in the US live in poverty?

    *exactly*

    Why can't people understand this?

And how does he have "more" rights than anyone else? Everyone has the
same rights - that's the point.

  8. Timo dear chap - you just don't understand at all. Slavery and
subjugation are where it's all at these days. These are the founding
principles of good old English capitalism. Anyway you're German so you
    couldn't possibly understand.
Well of course this must be true. Trade unions are aligned to Satan - do
you remember that evil bastard Arthur Scargill? He's not dead you know
and he might come back to power. And those ASLEF leaders - going round
thumping each other down the pub. Can't trust them either.

And working fewer hours - appalling idea. I reckon we need a compulsory
18 hour day, 7 day week. Just think of all the leisure and retail jobs
that could be saved from the rest of us working so hard down at the
    steel plant or coal mine.

And as for 9 months paternity leave - well I reckon that's fucking
disgraceful. When are those who are never going to have kids going to
get our 9 months off? Bloody unfair is what I call it.
And how many jobs were lost during the first 3 years of the Dubya Bush
administration compared to those created in Europe? Can we just adjust
the timeline a bit given that you are claiming that right wing fascist
leaders are better for us? We'll discount Bill Clinton as he was Mr
Blair's best mate so therefore he must make you vomit.

Membership of the EU has failed to prevent such abuses so far,
basically because we play by the rules. That's a fundamental part
of our national identity which sadly isn't shared among all of
our European allies. That's why chaining us reluctantly together
would not change the status quo.

You cannot impose unity on a number of independent nations. Look
at the USSR, Yugoslavia or even the Roman Empire for examples.
Probably, but it's better than totally humourless.

It matters a great deal. If Britain is to be forced into a
totalitarian regime we should understand which nations will
dictate our new combined national identity.
Multiculturalism? So far it's been a failed social experiment in
Britain. The diverse nations of Europe will never combine
culturally. How many black players do you see in Germany's
football team? Will we ban Muslim headscarves in our schools, as
    the French have?

I've already posted the following elsewhere in this thread:

We already have adequate employment laws to protect our workers.
We don't need, for example, legislation concerning restoring
union power, working fewer hours whether you like it or not and 9
months paternity leave for fathers. The price of such daft ideas
is fewer jobs and higher taxes.

A socialist EU superstate will not work. Over the last 10 years
the EU’s unemployment rate has been proportionately TWICE that of
the United States. While the US has created 30 million new
private-sector jobs the EU has created a net achievement of zero.
Britain has enjoyed employment growth only because we are, for
    now, free to be competitive.

Brainwashing has nothing to do with this of course.

Having Moms Apple Pie and Old Glory stuffed down their throats from
cradle to grave makes a difference to how they think. Personally I
don't think the US is a very good model of how to run a modern
democracy. Although as a pointer as to how not to develop one it has a
    great deal of merit.

Nope, I would welcome it as well, and the sooner the better.

At my advanced years I find myself more concerned with the world my
daughter and step-daughters will enjoy in the decades to come than
with the world as it is now. We must have a United States of Europe to
survive in the long term, and we have nothing to gain by delaying it's
creation except some, arguable, short-term benefits.

I thought that was where they tried to destroy our air force.

Where was the invasion force? When did they try to land the many
thousands that would have been needed?

Hey, it's the way I feel- I've more in common politically and socially
with my colleagues in Dusseldorf, Milan, Madrid, Lisbon, Maastricht (to
name a few) than those in the UK who vote for the likes of the BNP or
    the UK IP.

Yeah, the USSR only lasted 70 years, Yugo about the same, and the
Roman Empire faded away after around 400 years.

On the other hand, "Germany" and "Italy" haven't got too bad a record
of uniting separate nation states, and, despite the odd hiccup,
    neither has the "United Kingdom".
