I have a feeling that if you really pissed someone off to that level
it wouldn't be taken care of via the legal system.

Has for me, since I came back from Jordan. It's always been an
interest, but now I'm more motivated to do something about it.

I'm also trying to go for Spanish as well. Yes, I know SWMBO can teach
me, but I think I may have better luck in a class, as I'll be more
    motivated, IYSWIM.

Kind of stemmed from being places abroad with the misses, and thinking
that half the people around us could probably understand some or more of
what we were talking about. So we had some crazy idea about both learning
some obscure language just to communicate in private when in public, but
it needed to have some use as well. Chose Arabic thinking that it's not
widely known in Europe or North America, and could be useful on diving
    holidays.

That said, it was a long long way down on my list, and in all likelihood
would never have been taken up. I've got enough for my brain to cope
    with.

I had 2 Jordanian friends in college. All they taught me were

I knew a woman in Hamilton whose son was in the army. He was telling me
all about it. They were issued police uniforms without badges. On some

    'police' in action.

  12. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Simian
First time I read that I was a bit annoyed at the low-brow cunts who
staff Homeland Security, or whatever it's called. Second time I read it
I realised the mouthy cow isn't telling the whole story and is leaving
out a large part; ie, how she managed to get up the noses of an entire
    department.

Probably Classical Arabic or maybe Egyptian as a second option.

As for travelling, I didn't get to see much really, apart from Amman.
    Busy at work, y'see. :)

Friday afternoon, I bimbled around the city, but there's not much to
see. Or maybe I was walking around the wrong places. I was told by a
taxi driver, that the best bits are all at least 45 mins away by car.
(Mount Nebo, Dead Sea, etc). Petra is 3 hours away, IIRC?

The next time I go, I'll try to stay there the whole w/e and will get
    someone to show me around.

It really is worth going to Jordan just to see Petra... Get to Petra
in the evening, get an early night and walk down through the cutting
into Petra at 5 or 6 AM, before the sun is too intense - the colours
    are better then...

Also, try and get out of Amman and spend a night under the stars...
you will see so many more and lots of shooting stars... Its
    something...

Pushy, noisy type, full of self-importance. While these characteristics
