    Thankfully yes.

You have to consider that having a good satisfying dump is probably more
difficult than getting an MCSE nowadays.

IIRC There's nothing to stop the UKIP standing for the MEP elections in
France or Germany or any of the EU nations. So any lack of opportunity is
the UKIPs fault not the EU.

I think it is, TBH. Not trying to start another MS/Linux war, but plain

I'd actually like to do Red Hat training. Mind you, I'm actually trying

So would I but she is dead now.

I don't know a great deal about it, most of the information I do have
comes as anecdote from my Mother who didn't find out about this until
just before my Grandmother died of overwork in the 50's.

In the case of my Grandmother she was apparently a happy little pre
pubescent bog trotter whose impoverished family sold her into service
for about a fiver to posh Islingtonites just before the start of the
WW1. She stayed with the family until she started to blossom as a young
woman, at which point they pulled out all her teeth, made sure she
wasn't pregnant and sold her to my Grandfather as properly broken, well
    trained breeding stock.

Slavery of this type, for want of a better word, was commonly practised
by our betters right up until the start of WW2 with mainly young Irish
and Welsh girls sold to work below or between stairs to rich English
types in London. Sadly, proper records are non existent but we believe
she was about 11 or 12 years old when she was initially sold although
there is a suggestion that she was couple of years younger. If this was
the case then she may have been as young as 13 when she married, 14 when
my father was born and barely 50 when she died.

That is about all I know. Apart from the fact that matey is talking
Utter Fucking Bollox when he says slavery was abolished in the UK in
    1908.

I did ask at work today of our token wog, a Trinidadian of similar age
to me, about practices in the West Indies in his Grandparents time and
he told me a similar tale but without the happy ending.

Yes I'd agree with that and it's part of my point. We Brits are
an unusually tolerant lot, we're renowned for it. You've seen the
French out on the street burning cars and waving sheep about in
various protests. The Greeks have responded to upwardly spiraling
prices since adopting the Euro by a series of shopping strikes
where nobody buys anything on given days of the week (clever one
    that).

We, on the other hand, put up and shut up. We even treat the
Budget as a bit of a joke, even though we know we're going to be
caned each time. That's why our future in the EU will always be
as a dumping ground for the shite produce of Europe, and it will
only get worse when we have absolutely no say in what the EU gods
decide to throw our way after the proposed constitution..
There was a lot of misinformation spread about Clause 28 by gay
activists. It did not set out to ban discussion of homosexuality,
only it's promotion as a ready available *alternative* to
heterosexuality. The "educational" literature used at the time
was basically gay pornography, along with propagandist "gay is
best" books. Radical teachers were consigning heterosexuality to
    the back burner.

People don't decide to be gay. Either you are, you aren't, or
you're somewhere inbetween. Very often a heterosexual adolescent
male becomes confused about his sexuality and mistakenly takes
the gay route for a while with serious psychological consequences
later in life. His rights need protecting equally as much as his
    gay classmate.

Today there is a proposal to teach and encourage schoolgirls to
perform oral sex on their male classmates, rather than full sex.
This daft idea is to prevent them from getting pregnant, like
    yeah.
I see that if the constitution goes through in it's present form
the EU ceases to be a club and becoms an entity. The only plans
anticipate nothing but fair weather ahead. There are no
safeguards in place to control this monster if it all goes
    horribly wrong.

Well it is. Compare supermarket tomatoes to organically grown
local ones. A lot of those Dutch tomatoes are being illegally
irradiated. They are picked while green then exposed to a gas to
turn them red. Irradiation is harmless and makes them keep for
ages but kills off all the natural bacteria. Ever noticed how you
can put them in the sun on your windowsill for a week and they
still don't ripen? Eventually they rot from the inside without
ever having been at their best. I've never found tomatoes like
these anywhere else in Europe. It's the EU's job to police all
that but they don't, or someone is taking a bung.

I thought there was a time period for doing the upgrade path - which I
assumed I'd missed, and therefore had to do the whole fucking lot.
I'm confident I'd pass with a bit of mugging up, but I just don't have
    the time.

Which, other than Schema extensions in Windows 2003 haven't changed
significantly.. the MS exam doesn't even begin to address active
directrory scalability over low bandwidth links, or useful subjects like
    that either.

It's too high level to be of use, and should at minimum involve real
tasks, and some more complex scenarios.
Companies still have training budgets? Blimey. I'll bet you get days
devoted to learning, not doing your day job, as well..

I don't have current skills in that area, you see. I'm a very long
way away from a Microsoft world. I just want the certification to
show that this old dog can still pass exams, or that I still
understand the principles of current technologies. Or summat.
Hmm. I would too, but it's not really worth my time to get something
which will be irrelevant. I'd rather have PRINCE2. I'm doing
something called VBSS at the moment, but I don't know if it's worth a
    light.
