Ditto. And it's OK with you if the lanesplitting bike pulls in front of you
and parks there waiting for the light to go green?
They always do. Not that I've ever unleashed the full wrath of the 1800 cc
OHC engine in the 1980 Ford/Mazda ute.

I understood it straight off. But I didn't understand why other people

I wouldn't lane split if everyone in cars left a lane vacant for motorcycles.

Don't tell anyone Cam, but so do I.
Generally all I do is pull forward though. Then they can come out and be an arsehole if they choose or stay
where they are.... (and mostly they stay where they are... must be a Brisbane thing!).

  8. They do. It´s called the emergency lane, transit lane, bus lane, bike
lane, shoulder, median strip and footpath!

If I was waiting in line at the footy and somebody barged in in front of
To me there's 3 parts to lane splitting,
    1) see if the lights changed recently enough for me to be confident of reaching the front before it goes green
    2) are the cars wide enough apart for me to go thru and not get stuck midway
    3) do i feel comfy with doing that split, i.e. not a revhead, or someone that may be liable to running up my ass anytime soon.

usually i take all three and not split lanes, however weaving thru moving traffic quickly and sensibly is another game
    alltogether. :)

AFAIK, if you draw a straight line between the property boundaries on either
side of the road, at the point at which that line crosses the road is the
point at which the intersection begins. The line painted on the road will
rarely actually coincide with the line between the property boundaries and is
there as a visual indicator to drivers to remind them to stop. If you stop at
the white line painted on the road, chances are you have already illegally
    entered the intersection.

Straw poll by the knobdoodle in aus.cars doesnt agree with you, and
all the cagers commenting negatively about it I've ever spoken to have
admitted when asked it's all about jealousy (to which I always say "so
    buy a bike" :)

Besides which you specifically asked ME if it upset me - the answer to
    which is very definitely NO

You are correct that it is illegal to cross the white line, no one
ever gets booked for that in Sydney as far as I'm aware (never seen
    it, never heard of it)

I think you have just won the most idiotic response of the week. :)

Would you like to quote the part of the traffic code which agrees with
your definition of where you are required to stop at traffic lights?
