    Personally, I think that's quite a well-written story.

Scan it then in for those of us who can't be arsed to break the habit of
    a lifetime and buy MCN.

I just read it in Asda. I was going to buy something for dinner, but
the article included a photo of some ugly **** & it's put me right off
    the thought of food.

Not entirely convinced of the legality of doing that.

Well, FFS, can someone scan it in and then email it? This way no one
    will know.

Oh, and it's only MCN, FFS.

Email the details rather than posting it on here and nobody'll ever be
    the wiser.

    Seriously, it's MCN, **** 'em.

You don't have "fair use" in Britain? :)

Show me where "fair use" equates to "copying works wholesale to share
    with friends".

I do not know SteveH (1), nor have I ever met him (1)... however,
having now seen the picture of him in the article concerned, I can
confirm that whoever gave plod the tip off that led them to his garage
door were right when, and I quote, they'd 'seen someone strange
putting a bike in a garage'.

    Oh, the article: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30349653@N02/4274372031/sizes/l/

    Enjoy. :)

Around here, as long as you share it "in the immediate circle of family,
friends and acquaintances" it means exactly that. You can get a movie
and watch it with your friends, you can read a book aloud, you can
borrow the book or DVD with a movie, or you can rip the DVD or CD to
a digital file and copy that file.

So, for example, ripping a CD of music and then putting it on a
webpage would be illegal, but if the webpage would be password-protected
and the password would only be given to friends and acquaintances then
    everything would be OK.

Of course, the IP industry lobbyists are not happy with that. And I
wouldn't be surprised if the IP law in Britain is much stricter.

Not exactly searching journalism though is it?
Just repeats what you've said on here with no answers whatsoever -its
    your
statement about 'someone strange' not theirs. The cops weren't actually
    asked to
account for anything and the 'every effort to minimise inconvenience'
    doesn't tie
up with you saying you still haven't got the bike back.
