Thanks for the replies to my previous post about the screw in my tyre.
    http://www.45six.com/screw_location.jpg
I rang my local dealer this morning, who said as my bike has a Z rated tyre,
it's a non standard UK repair and therefore shouldn't be done.
The tyre's almost new so I really don't want to buy a new one.
I'm actually trying to sell the bike now, so perhaps it's best to leave the
    screw in,
tell whoevers looking at the bike and let them decide what to do.
    If anyone's after a 2000W YZFR6 which might need a new tyre,
and probably needs a new battery as it gets ridden so infrequently,
    then I'm in Welwyn, Herts.
    regards
    Richard

    In
My local tyre depot, Buckley Tyres, did a repair to a very similar
placed puncture for 15 quid (the tyre was a Z rated Avon Azaro. The
repair lasted the life of the tyre.

  3. For what it's worth, I've had a Z rated tyre plugged; no problems with
it so far. Cost about £20, if I remember right.

The shop did say that max speed rating for a plugged tyre was 140,
    which I can live with...

This was Colin Colins in Watford.

Same here, but it only cost me a tenner. I was told max 120, which I
    can also live with.

    Cheers.
They used to be my local dealer.
I bought the bike from them, but have since moved out of the area.
If I was keeping the bike the plug would be fine I guess,
as I'm too nervous to get anywhere near 140.

Get it plugged by someone who will do it, don't listen to them. I've had
a few Z rated tyres plugged now, and never had a problem with any of
    them.

In Gloucestershire (I know it's no help to you Richard) you can get tyres
plugged at Five Acres Garage, Coleford and Tyresales in Gloucester (near
    rugby ground, Kingsholm)

CC in Watford are doing the tyre for me on Friday,
that's provided I can pump it up enough with my 3.99 pump from Littlewoods,
and then I can find someone to push me fast enough to jump start the thing.
Hopefully CC can tell me if it needs a new battery or there's something else
    at fault.
