For the first time for weeks there is no overnight frost and the snow on
the roof is finally melting. Lovely plopping sound as the melt-water runs
down the drainpipes. It will nice to be able to go up & down the drive
without the TCS or ABS coming on.

It definitely feels milder here (Hereford). Not above freezing, but the
trip out to the garage to get beer is less unpleasant than last night
when it was something like -15.

Another foot and a half of snow expected though.

Lovely. Just need 24 hours like this to melt the ice on the drive. It's
very handy having a couple of bottles of champagne buried in the snow on
the patio, just in case, like...

All the soft drinks in the garage have frozen solid. Booze is alright
    though. Just.

We've had guests over xmas so have been using the balcony as an
overflow fridgel last night a bottle of Cremant was brought in which
proved a little difficult to open - almost no pressure so the cork
needed to be pulled out. On pouring it became clear why, as what would
normally have been bubbles froze into little crystals as the wine
expanded in the glass. Wierd effect I've never seen before, which
lasted a minute or two until it warmed up, but didn't affect the taste
    at all.

    Nearly all gone here overnight.
Time to put some wind in the back tyre of the YP250, crank it up, and maybe
figure out why it goes slowly flat.

Ditto ... and temperatures dropped from -1 to about -5 and going south,
so it's likely to stay around a bit.

+4 here, melting well. Pressure's dropping like a stone though, with a
forecast return to cold and snow over the next couple of days.

2 degrees and rising here though with a few speckles of very light wet
snow. Supposed to go even warmer by Thursday. About time. I need to do a
garage contents shuffle that requires at least one bike to be left
    outside for a while.

LOL, an hour later and it's been snowing, then sleet, now it's raining
and temp's back up to 1 and rising!

The snow isn't staying around either ... ;)

  14. I read about some Russians croaking it through necking vodka that was
damn cold. Thermal shock and swelling of the throat tissues.

Thaw here. I've just done the A14-M6-M2-M5 run and there's barely any
snow on the Northants stretch. It's been bitter in Cambs but there was
no frost this morning. Drove into some light snow on the last bit of
M6 but after that mostly sleety. Been 3-4C the whole way.

Originally we were forecast heavy snow here overnight but that now
    seems to have gone.

    Same here.

Yesterday we were Morris Dancing at a local pub and it was minus 8c. I
was playing my little 3/4 size guitar ( of very low value) however it
was so cold the gortex coating on the strings ( Elixir) was flying
off, the top of the guitar looked like it had dandruff. The electronic
tuner threw in the towel and just displayed the figure 8.

Put my pint on the floor whilst I played two tunes, when I picked it
up there was ice floating in it!

Oi you Tosser who you calling a Shandy Drinker!

I'll have you know it was a pint of Hobgoblin. Light weight I know but
I was driving, well thats my excuse.

Oh and your brother gets decent cove of the week award, gave
permission for my mates two daughters to record one of his tunes
royalty free. They were well chuffed as tomorrow is their first ever
time in a studio. Couple of other very well known people said no even
with royalties- its not a commercial recording , just family and
    friends get copies.
