You really are a fuckwit arent you..................sale of goods act
suggest the cars you bought must be fit for intended purpose, so if say
a gearbox failed on one of them, and you paid for repairs yourself,
then this would seem to suggest you have a lot more money than sense!

The law pertaining to traders and private individuals is quite
different..................and your posts on here suggest that if you
ever were in the trade, then you certainly wouldnt last very long!

So if one of you numptys bought a bike from a dealer who told you there
was no warranty and it blew up the next day, you would be happy to pay
for repairs yourself, and forgo your legal rights under the sale of
    goods act?

  7. I once bought an ex-authority minibus from Lock Commercials, near Kew
Bridge, and the disclaimer on their printed invoice was a marvel to behold.
I seriously doubt that had you gone 6ft beyond their gate and had it fall
into little pieces, you'd have been able to claim a bent farthing. Sadly, I
    no longer have the text.

Disclaimers like that often fool those with little understanding of
their legal rights.................as I said earlier the only way a
trader can negate responsibility for a vehicle sold, is to sell it as
    spares with no V5!

  10. I've put "not roadworthy: sold for scrap" on some dead bikes' invoices.
And made two copies and got the buyer to sign both of them.

Every bike I have sold since 1981 has had "Sold as seen with no warranty
given or implied by the seller" on the receipt. I also make two copies
and keep one signed by both parties.

If I buy a bike and the seller hasn't prepared a receipt, I play fair
and write a receipt out for the seller with exactly the same words on
it. I have done this for Hog, Colin Irvine and Dick Dastardly in the
past 3 years. I sell bikes like this, I buy bikes like this.
