A commercial passenger plane has crashed in Libya, killing at least 104
    people on board

'Kin hell when I flew out of Gatwick to Geneva with my lad in March he was
asking me about plane safety. I recounted my policy of only flying with
mainstream carriers with a gold star for not burning their customers. I
pointed to another plane on the standing and said "one wouldn't fly on the
    likes of that"

    It was Afriqiyah Airways.

**** That for a game of soldiers.

  2. Yeah - just heard that on the radio. An 8 year old kid was the only
survivor. Don't buy a lotto ticket mate, you'd just had your lifetime
    of luck.

But I agree with the sentiment of major carriers. Thankfully we've got
a good safety record in Oz, probably one of the best, but if I was OS
I would only travel on major carriers.

My boss checks with his son (who works indirectly for Airbus) to see if
the airlines have a maintenance contract on their aircraft. If they're not
using Airbuses or the aircraft aren't maintained regularly, how doesn't use
    them.

Early indications are pilot error I think, info from pprune which hates
    speculation :)

In that case, my boss would be stuffed. :)

I noticed that the aircraft were supposed to be relatively new too.
