Finally got done for overtaking on the right (lanesplitting on the inside of
a stationary bus in the left most lane - no valid excuses).
Apparently the ticket is in the mail. Any idea of what this is worth?

It was stopped at the time, apparently that makes it easier.

Um yeah. Overtaking on the left...

The cop just couldn't hand out a ticket either. He had to rant and rave
about the dangers of breaking the law and how just the other day a
motorcyclist was killed doing the exact same thing. The lecture was worse
    than the impending ticket.

Up the wheelchair ramp of course.... I'm sure Pete will be glad to
demonstrate with the next ultra low floor bus :)

What State? Overtaking stationary traffic on the left is now legal in
Queensland. Interestingly there was a comment in the latest RACQ magazine
about outlawing lane splitting in the uniform Australian road rules because
there is no law that specifically deals with it (in Qld at least.) What
offence do they get you with up here now for splitting?

That got me thinking. The uniform national road rules say you can
overtake a vehicle on the left only if it is in another lane, or making
a right turn or a U turn *and* is indicating right.

So... What about the situation where a car is waiting to turn right, and
other cars get 'trapped' behind it. If following vehicles pass on the
left, they are breaking the law. The trapped vehicles are not turning,
so cannot be passed. I wonder if anyone has been pinged for *that*.

Interesting comparison between you and those two highwaywankers /nsw
finest in aus.cars , one of you is living in the real world and doesn't
make a public display of certain things , well done.
