The BBC are not forecasting it for Brum anymore. Sleet on Wednesday then
    heavy rain on Thursday.

The other answer would be , yes, but I don't know exactly where, at what
time, for how long and to what severity.

No, but Sky, ITV & The Weather Channel are. Metcheck's borked again.
I suspect that's the truth of it.

All depend where. Yes in a few places, no in many.

  7. This lot:

    http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/surface_pressure.html

Says there should be a lot of very cold air coming off of Russia
(southern states) meeting wet/moist air coming off of the Atlantic.
Where they meet will probably get sleet or snow.
    Yes!

  10. Remembering the Cray1s I was competing with in 1975, I'd imagine his
mobile phone has more computing power than them! "The Cray-1 was a 64-bit
system running at 80MHz. The system performed at 160 MIPS "

    My 9-y.o. laptop:
    CPU type GenuineIntel x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 10 997MHz
    Number of processors 1
Measured floating point speed 884.99 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed 1535.66 million ops/sec

  13. I meant the weather in a place called the BBC was shite.

Mind you if the weather looks bad on one weather service I look to see
if it is better on another.

    Optimist me!

  14. Yes. I believe it (or at least its FORTRAN) didn't have
single-precision floats, its default floats were double-precision which
led to some problems porting Cray programs to run on other systems where
    default was SP.

It's always better not on the BBC in Turkey. They always seem to guess
on the low side of temperatures and never get the rain right more than
    50% of the time.
I supose it's all down to weather you look on the sunny side of life. :)
