Yes it is French. Not at all interesting but it is uncommon, except in
their colonies in SE Asia and we have no clues as to it's derivation but
we do know it is not an anglicised bastardisation.

Having studiously avoided this bitch-fest, I will point out that
boasting who is and who isn't in your k/file is generally (IMHO) a
rather sad thing to do. If you must, lob 'em in and keep schtum,
otherwise it does come over like a playground "you're not in my gang"
spat.

Er, the other way round, I think you'll find - the 'we' and 'us' brigade
here are the ones who like to play silly little 'not in our gang' games
while they try and maintain *private chat room* status in a public
forum. But thank you for your comments - just so long as you aren't
another one who thinks I haven't been on Usenet for years (and posted
thousands of times as well as creating/instigating a *new* newsgroup) or
even hooked up to ukrm a few times before. Trust me, I do know how or
who to bin...

But, in any case, I shouldn't worry - the S/N ratio here is even lower
than I remember it and I'm already having to blow whole threads just to
*clear down*, so there's no telling how long I'll hang around,
especially as the weather has perked up rather nicely now!!

Talking of comments, it is worth noting that those of TOG were put

your k/file" - if you are referring to that, then both you and TOG seem
to have overlooked the fact that I haven't actually named anybody - my
phrase in reply to Ace was:

Which effectively names Ace, but nobody else and his hardly a 'boast' -
seems to me you and TOG already have a very good idea who the 'worst
creeps' are...!!??

The thing is, binning works both ways - anyone don't like what I post,
they have the same facility to bin me. That's how is goes....
