    I may have to do one. Otherwise my finger is hovering over a mouse
    button to confirm a flight and hotel booking for Hong Kong over the
    Christmas and New Year period.

    Me either.

    I told our organiser that "I can't make that evening", to which they
    pointed out that they hadn't told me when it was, yet.

    I'm not that keen on Xmas as a concept, but it's the enforced
    conviviality that puts my teeth on edge.

    I'm going to two, on the same day.

    We have the departmental one on a Thursday afternoon... I plan to get
    pissed as it will make the event more tolerable.

    There's then a sales one the same evening, I plan to arrive at that
    event already pissed, I'll eat some food, maybe drink a little...
    Perhaps I'll tell a few people what I think of them, y'know, for a
    laugh, like.

    It's not an altogether well thought out plan, but who wants to live
    forever.

    close-knit office, so I'm going this year. But only because it's a
    lunchtime do and I'll be able to bail when they all head into town to
    get massively pissed.
