the "funny" thing was, when they phoned me up, and I complained about
having had my doorbell rung at 03:30 their immediate deadpan reply
was, "no sir, our incident log specifically mentions that the officers
attempted to contact you at 03:17". FFS, it was still what I would
call " the middle of the fucking night", when I was technically, you
know, doing that "sleep" thing.

It wasn't; it was from someone else I tangentially maligned in this
thread - I didn't even mention him by name, but he stilll managed to
have scoured Usenet for something to do with him which it turns out he
