All the weather sites are forecasting rain for the Leicester area on
    Thursday - & only Thursday :-/

Can you sort it out please else I'll have to get the big pink thing out.

  3. Define best :)

Jewel in the Crown is good - not the spiciest but good quality and well
    cooked.
Biplop Curry House used to be good.

La Casita (Mexican food) is good too.
    You poor thing.
I'm not local[1] but I have lived here for 17 years..

    Phil.

[1] Round here I don't think you qualify unless you have a
    room-temperature IQ and webbed feet..

http://www.jewelinthecrown.co.uk/ is generally reckoned to be the best,
    but my favourite is
    http://www.192.com/directory.cfm/SWINDON/INDIAN_RESTAURANT/X95E9BAEE09A4
4F908482FE795F1CF74D/AID860931 That's out in the far reaches of West
    Swindon though.

Caveat - I haven't been to either for at least a year, so one/both of
them may have gone totally to shit.

  5. The Midlands area seems to have a forecast of thunderstorms on the
Wednesday night too, so beware those travelling the day before...

But, looking at Hinckley's weather forecast on the bbc it looks to be
ok.. and Hinkley is closer to the track than leicester.

  7. Ta chaps,

Seems as if the "Jewel in the Crown" should be pretty safe.

I'll let you know how it was on Friday.

  8. I thoght they were a Chinese restaurant? Used to be called Chinese
    Experience?

Ho hum. I drive past it every day on the way to work - maybe I ought to
    look.
JITHC was all right when I went there about 6 months ago.

  9. Probably ideal. Looks nice.
I'm used to the Elachi here in Grove which specialises in Bangladeshi
    Cuisine.
You should give it a try if you're ever in the locale - its very nice
    indeed.

Mexican eh..... well thats weds night sorted as well.

It has air conditioned rooms, mini bars and a swimming pool, which is more
    than my house does.
+ Its payed for by Intel.

  10. BBC forecasting is useless, although I think they just replicate the met
office. The 5 day forecast changes several times going from heavy rain
to sun and back again regularly. I expect snow and hail.

Metcheck & weather.co.uk say otherwise, but...
    That's ok then.
    <shudder>

I was of course referring to the Tig, but having fallen asleep on the
patio earlier, I'm now looking extremely pink myself. I may have to buy
some bigger boots. Much, much bigger boots. Ones that don't touch the
    top of my charred feet.

It's been my favourite in recent years. They've got some unique
specialities that knock the socks off most 'UK' Indian food.

  17. Since my Cherman vocab consists "can I have the bill" and "thank you" I
    suspect so..
"I want your boots and your state".
Indeed. I generally dislike his comedy but he was funny on TG.

    Yes, it was bloody good.

I'm finding that the "presenters botch something up" section is getting a
    little tedious though.

The whole format's getting really really tired. The botching is about
the only bit left that's even halfway entertaining.

  20. We went to that all you can eat chinese place just down from curry corner,
but couldn't get in as there were 18 of us and they had no room !!

So we ended up at the Khyber which was fucking superb.
    http://www.thekhyber.co.uk/

Decided to give the Jewel a miss after chatting to a couple of Indian guys
who worked in the Marriot, they said they stopped going there about a year
ago when prices went up and quality went down.

Ta for the advice though guys.
