Are you in town? Whats your schedule look like for tommorow? I would
like to meet up with you so you can demonstrate that fine plug kit you
    have. I will buy lunch.

Dude, as wonderful as all that sounds, I'm stuck here surrounded by a
bunch of dirt hills, sunshine, palm trees and not much else.

We can surely hook up on Saturday if you'd like though. I'll plug up
that tire for you so you can beat the record held here of 18k miles on
a plugged tube....with you not having a tube though, I'm not sure if I
can plug it. You also might not get that record mileage from the
    fix....

I'll even let you buy my lunch! :)

    Anyone else in?

Saturday will work if I dont have it fixed by then. I may just put a
old standard pig gut plug in it for now or see if I can locate one of
    those kits like you have.

===18,000 miles on the best Tire in the world, is a wonderful,
incredible tha'ng. How-ever, 18000 on a plugged tire, is super
Incredible........I have read that anything over 12,000 on any MC tire
is way above the average exspectability. (;> =bjay

Well now.. the source has to be considered.. On another newsgroup
there was quite a bit of talk about restraint and/or the lack of it.. That
could have a great deal to do with all that mileage.. Especially interest-
ing is plugging a tube type tire and loading it with Fix-a-Flat.. Of course,
the fact that the material came out the spoke holes and such might be
an indication that there was no tube inside.. Considering the source, again
that might be a distinct possibility..

Recollection of a flat that I had a few months back.. I'd ridden that tire
    for
a short distance and by the time I'd gotten into a truck stop, the tube was
history.. As I recall.. we did fill the tire with Fix-a-Flat or something,
    created
a bead and aired it up.. It held up long enough for me to make it to the
nearest motorcycle dealer where I could get it repaired.. You can be sure
that it wasn't 18,000 miles.. more like 10 or so.. That tire didn't have any
air left when I pulled the bike into their shop..

Miracles do happen, however, and again, considering the source, I am
not surprised to hear that 18,000 miles on a plugged tire isn't the least
    bit out of the ordinary..

Yeah, like the 70mph bicycle on the California highways...or wait,
more like the tale of West Point beating down the Williams' door to
    recruit....

    Nope....

I'm going to start wondering about all this shit...

First Jerry offers to meet me halfway for lunch, then he's a no show.
Then you and Ed offer to ride Saturday and I sat on the side of the
highway all day waiting for you two....
