My better half keeps complaining of a sore tail every long ride on my
    CBR1100XX.

Have just fitted a sheepskin cover (http://www.sheepyhollow.com/home.htm)
but haven't put it to the test on a long trip as yet.

Would welcome any other suggestions/accessories on improving pillion
    comfort.

if it hurts she must be doing it wrong
once you've had a dead sheep you'll never go back
leave them at home :) or trade for a better model :)

Half the price of Corbin /Sargent & packed for you & pillions weight.
You can style your own or use one of their designs.
I'll be at PI if you want to see what one looks like up close!
