But be quick coz it's about to go to the skip. Not that I suppose many people would be interested in some of the stuff being uncovered in the attic in our never-ending de-cluttering. Like a complete set of hard-copy EANCOM EDIFACT manuals plus a complementary hard copy GENCOD (French EDI) manuals An Emmerson AccuCard on-board UPS? An Acorn Electron c/w tape deck and some cassettes An LPT card plus a box full of old Centronics LPT cables. Why do these things get kept? -- Rob_P UKRM(at)indqualtec.co.uk uppercase(d) BBIWYMC#1 BOG#11? MRO#31 IBCDBBB#1(kotl) FJ1200, CCM130 Benelli Cabriolet (gone) Looks like Rab C Nesbit.
No idea. Perhaps one day they will be useful. I still have a Spectrum 128k +2 (with non working tape interface, an no power supply) and an Amiga 500 (no power supply). Oh, and a 3DO console (still working, along with all the games still working) and countless old network cards.
Because there is still some money to be made from EDIFACT by a conslutant who knows it ?. The Acorn might make a few bob from the historic buffs, The rest belongs in a skip.
That deserves to be saved and given away if not ebayed. Offer it on uk.comp.vintage and it should find a home
Same reason I kept all the Star Wars toys when the boy-chic out grew 'em. Ack-Ack's, Millennium Falcon and a raft of stormy troopers, plus some glo engined buggies (Mardave) and a shed load of electric off roaders (Frogs being the main ones). I've got RC heli's dating from 1972 too which are abut as useful as chocolate fireguards. You just never know when you're going to need 'em.
