Pikey git seeks free FTP advice

    I've been using SmartFTP for years and they've just stopped doing it free to
    home users.

    What do the FOAKs recommend, with the emphasis on < $36.95?

    ftp comes free in windows too. Both in GUI and command line format.

    Sure. Doesn't have much control, stuff like CRLF conversion,
    binary/ascii transfer selection etc. but is OK for plain text and the
    like.

    IME it (explorer) usually (silently) fails miserably if you try to copy
    a whole directory structure from a to b. So you think you've copied
    everything, but some vital files will be missing.
