Just got one. It's rather noisy and OK for deterrent use, but a good
thwack with a hammer would probably have the key barrel smacked off and
the noisy bit is easily muffled with a thumb.

 

It might be good hung on the inside of the garage door, however - if it
has a delay built into it for setting purposes - even better if it has
a warning before it goes into full-throated mode. I use something like
that on the inside of the up-an-over, then make my escape through the
personal door at the back, which is as secure as I can make it.
