Piece for Arai lid

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Paul Carmichael, Feb 11, 2011.

  1. When I lived in the UK, to get any part for an Arai helmet, I could walk
into the local bike shop and either get it for free or it would cost a few
pence. I now need a breath deflector, which is a ikkle piece of rubber

....and the shop wants 19 euros for it!

Can this stuff be bought online cheaper? Or is that the RRP?

Yes, I know the helmet is antique, but it's not seen much action, so can
    last a bit longer.

My old Arai, which is unlikely to ever be used again, probably still
has one attached. I can take it off and you can have it if you want it.

Jolly decent of you. Mind, I don't know what it will cost to post it.

I suspect that the weight is around "not a lot" so it can't be more
than the price of a pint.

I'll try to get hold of it over the weekend (I'm fairly certain that
it's somewhere in the garage!) and drop you a line.

    Good I found it.
Bad it's not in great nick. The centre of the deflector bit is
    split vertically.

It's still in one piece and might be repairable so you're welcome to it
if you still want it. Send me an address (email is valid) and I'll pop
    it in the post.

Thanks anyway, but it sounds the same as the one I've got, ie; split in the
middle. It's mostly cosmetic really, as I don't go out when it's cold.
