anyone looks for them - i know i did, and i found very few, mostly small

i guess it depends on how and where you plan to ride. I'm just for short
    rides...

  3. I used to own z750, excellent bike, great value for money, heaps better than
the naked 600's . z750s would have been even better if it had been available
at the time. But these days, I have switched to sv1000s to quench my vee
twin desire. Good luck, fine bike.

    <snip>

I quite liked the idea of one of these for a bit of fun. However it
would inevitably end up becoming my commuter bike. Unfortunately
reports suggest they fall apart in a rusty heap at the slightest hint
    of rain/salt.

I was reading MCN (I know) on the train yesterday and they had an 8 month
    old one.

Bubbling paint on the engine cover and pillion peg, discoloured wheels - all
    sorts.

And the bloke had apparently washed and applied anti-corrosion stuff
    liberally.

Kwak UK apparently will review them on a warranty basis, but you somehow
have to prove you've looked after it.

Do you? Where'd you get that idea from?

A mate of mine used to process all the warranty work at a medium sized
Kwack dealer, and I'm sure there was no such requirement.

One bit of advice - take all that crap off your keyring as shown in
    http://sleeperman.topcities.com/images/kawasaki/low_res/kawa_low02.jpg

It'll scuff the **** out of your top clamp, & your alarm fob won't be
    happy getting bashed about either.

Fair enough - my mate hasn't been there for about that period
    (probably more, thinking about it).

    The article.

Pretty much "Kawasaki are at their descretion to decide whether or not you
are deemed to have 'looked after' your motorcycle"
Good for your mate - I was repeating what was written.

Personally, considering cars all come with no quibble anti-corrosion
warranty type things, I think it's a bit rich of the bike makers -
especially on something like a Z750 - to start getting arsey about
    corrosion.

yeah...this is a must...my dog(s) (there are two) were making total
inspection on my new bike... :)
I couldn't get them off for 10 minutes...

  14. Also, what are the recommended "care" procedures in the owner's
manual, other than keeping the bike clean? Are there specified
anti-corrosion treatments listed in the owner's manual?

As far as I'm concerned, discolouring finishes and things like the
clearcoat flaking off of polished aluminum engine cases are usually
design/material defects. There's simply no regular treatment that
would prevent it, and still be reasonable enough to expect the typical
owner to carry out on a regular basis.

it was really scary creature indeed....
kids and dogs are going together really excellent....
To be honest, having two dogs can be way more fun than having only one - i
mean, they can play aroung the way you never could....
But for me....only collies can exist...

  16. The sv1000 is actually lighter than the z750s, which helps a bit and the
other major factor is torque down low is enhanced. But to be really honest,
the z750 certainly had more than enough power for me, I guess it was just
curiosity that made me do it!

Ah...don't worry bout them. You like the bike? It runs good? It's what you
wanted? Ride the thing. Be aware of issues but don't worry about them.
Chances are you may never have any issues with it. Be informed...don't be
    scared.

    Heh, I wouldn't worry.

My Zephyr is 8 years old, and the finish is still passable, despite the
horror stories of them being soluble in water.

Still, I suppose not riding it in the wet helps.
