I was not impressed with the food on offer at the superbikes earlier this
year so I ask if the grub available at the track over the GP weekend will
be better or should I make plans to feed myself?

  2. Hook up a trailer to the back of your bike and fill it with food
Whatever you don't eat yourself, sell it off to others who have to wait for
an hour for a burger which will be overpriced anyway

    :-(

The only trailer I have is for the car.
I have some other crate ideas though.

They will do a check on any bag you carry, don't know what they allow
    in?
Yabbie burgers and pies are usually for sale up toward the top of the
    main straight.
They have fed me for years. Just don't be greedy and leave me my
    share.

    Hi -
The best PI food I've had is the corn on the cob. So juicy and delicious -
and the butter/salt&pepper just top it off perfectly. The other food, IMHO,
is all over-fried, overpriced shite, although if you're hungry enough... and
you've been to enough beer tents... lol.

(Actually - haven't tried the yabbie burgers, coz the word 'yabbie' puts me
off...) The burgers I've tried in the past ended to have stale/dry buns that
made a bottle of water a necessary co-purchase.

Mmmmm, I love PI :) even if the food at the track IS crap!

Ah it will all become second rate when it comes to be just out your
    back door :).
Just use and abuse it; sacrilege, but I'm even driving down this time.

It'll still be a reasonable ride from M'coota :) Took me till lunchtime
today to get as far as Cann River, and M'coota is another 70+kms on...
(You're right, though, some of it was as boring as batshit - Leongatha to
Mirboo North was nice, but Sale to Bairnsdale was a bit ordinary).

As always - thanks for your hospitality (even if you DID drive!) - PI rocks!

There are some more interesting alternatives to the #1 between Sale and
Bairnsdale... via Bengwarden to the south (slightly less boring) or if
you go north of the Hwy you can you can avoid the Princes Hwy all the
way to Nowa Nowa and just hit the good bits between there and the border
(but allow an extra hour for the extra km and another hour for getting
unlost between Boisdale and Wy Yung :)
